Seven Layer Dip

Seven Layer Dip :

Friday evening parties are a lot of fun, but if it is a pot luck, a working week leaves me with very little energy to cook and dishes like these come to our rescue. Get almost all the ingredients ready made and put them together and we are all done ! A great Party Appetizer and crowd pleaser it sure will be..

This also is a good healthy evening snack, where if you have time, you can make everything from scratch

and the taste goes up by several notches and so does the cook's satisfaction level. Not to mention that it is very healthy with every layer of it doing its part in contributing to the health factor. This was introduced to me by my friend, she would bring these to our get togethers and it will be all gone in no-time.

I modified the recipe in the link a bit, I home made the gaucamole , which is made of avocados, and also made gaucamole the bottom most layer, since the strong refried beans layer at the bottom was breaking the Chips. And kind of felt lettuce was a mis-fit here and did not add it too.

So here's how I did. This is the quick version using store bought ingredients. I'll be posting another variant with home made versions of all of those.

Ingredients :

Gaucamole - 1 Cup (you can store buy this)

Salsa - 1 24 Oz bottle (I used Mild Tostitos chuky Salsa)

Light Sour Cream - 1 Cup

Refried Pinto Beans / black Bean - 1 Can. (I used Pinto beans)

Taco seasoning - 1 Tbsp.

Green Onions - 3-4 Sprigs

Black olives - 1/2 Cup

Mozzarella Cheese / any other shredded Cheese - 1 Cup.

Preparation Method :

Making this in a baking dish according to the quatity you need would be ideal, it needs no baking, but it does

have seven layers !

Take a dish and add the gaucamole.

Combine the refried beans and the taco seasoning and make the second layer.

Add the Salsa on top of this.

Whip the sour cream nicely and add that on this.

Now add the green onions, sprinkle the Olives and the Cheese.

It's all done and I'm not kidding :)

Serve it with some Chips and drink.
